One Table, No Compromises: Evanston Corner Bistro Unveils Its New Seasonal Menu

We’ve just rolled out a new seasonal menu, and this one comes with a story worth telling.

17 Plant Based’s beloved plant-based menu and experience have moved into Evanston Corner Bistro, woven directly into the bistro's full, new seasonal lineup.

Plant-based and traditional diners can now gather at the same table, order off the same menu, and each walk away with something they love.

What's new on the menu

The new lineup keeps the shareable, easy start Evanston Corner Bistro is known for, tomato croquette, blue corn chips, lentil rillettes, and expands meaningfully from there.

Starters now lean further into vegetable-forward cooking, with a verjus-soaked cucumber gazpacho, roasted carrots with carrot-ginger purée, and a mushroom polenta finished with pickled Fresno chili.

Entrées are organized into three simple categories — Earth, Land, and Water — which makes the plant-based expansion easy to spot and easy to choose from. Highlights include a beetroot steak with chimichurri, a broccoli risotto finished with pesto and onion confit, an eggplant pasta with aubergine ragout, and a king oyster mushroom dish with romanesco and mint pea purée — alongside the seared scallops, grilled sirloin, and roasted duck that round out the Land and Water sides of the menu. A curried chickpea and lentil side rounds things out for anyone building a vegan plate from starters and sides alone.

Desserts and the bar got attention too, with an upgraded cocktail list, a strong sparkling and white wine selection, and a Chicago-leaning beer list to close out the meal.

Same location, bigger table

Evanston Corner Bistro remains open at its location inside the Hilton Orrington Hotel, serving lunch and dinner daily. The move doesn't change where to find great food in Evanston — it just means there's now one menu, one room, and one table for everyone who wants a seat.
